What does the seaside look like from above?

Have you ever been in an aeroplane and looked out of the window?

If you were to fly over the seaside and look down the view is very different from the one you would get from a car or train.

We call this a bird's eye view or aerial view.

When you look down you only see the tops of buildings and features.

A bird's eye view is very similar to a map or plan of an area.

On a map you would see symbols or labels in place of the features.

Look at the picture opposite and think what these features would look like from above or on a map.
