This module is part of the QCA Study Unit:

It is taken from the sentence level objectives of the National Literacy Strategy for Year 1, Term 1, and can be used as independent work (for fairly confident readers) or in shared or guided time within the Literacy Hour.

The module reinforces Year R work on awareness of sentences - the need for basic punctuation, complete ideas, good word order and simple spelling.

Following this module, children should be reminded and encouraged to use these skills within their text-level work, and should be asked to proof read all sentences written in class, by adults as well as children.
